PAL ITEX-2 Option |
The ITEX-2 Option consists
of an add-on module which can be used with any existing or
new CombiPAL System. It performs enrichment of volatile or
semi-volatile compounds during headspace analysis. A microtrap
filled with adsorbent material, such as Tenax or activated charcoal
is placed between the heated CombiPAL Headspace syringe and
the syringe needle. No cryofocussing is needed to obtain sharp peaks. The new ITEX-2 Option offers faster desorption, a complete deactivated sample path and a shortened syringe. Adding ITEX to your existing COMBI PAL is now as easy as switching from Liquid to Headspace Sampling.

MHE Option for COMBI PAL |
The PAL Multiple Headspace Extraction (MHE) Option is a new add-on module to extend the headspace mode of the CTC Analytics CombiPAL Autosampler. In classical headspace technique one sampling is done per vial. The quantitative determination can be inaccurate in the presence of interfering matrices or in cases where a calibration standard cannot be made with the exact same matrix composition. The MHE option consists of a venting tool combined with a Park station. The MHE technique requires a series of sampling cycles using the same vial. First, a sample is pressurized to a specific pressure. The vial is then sampled and vented. The vial is re-pressurized and sampled again. This process is repeated multiple times to obtain final results.

ITSP System of Microliter Inc. |
ITSP* (Instrument Top Sample Prep) for Serial Solid Phase Extraction or Sample Filtration uses a standard PAL syringe as the solvent reservoir for Microliter's disposable SPE cartridges. The combination replaces expensive dedicated SPE liquid handlers and cumbersome or inconsistent vacuum manifolds. Pressurizing multiple wells is eliminated, no loss of samples or inconsistency of extraction due to leaks or loss of vacuum. Furthermore standard SPE liquid handlers require a manual transfer of the extracted samples to a sample injector. Since the PAL itself is a sample injector this can be avoided using the automated ITSP – PAL combination. ITSP for PAL Systems is distributed exclusively by Microliter Inc.
* ITSP US Patents 6,859,615 & 7,001,774. Canadian Patent 2,316,648. Foreign Patents Pending.

PAL Configurator Software |
PAL systems feature a high degree of flexibility. In order to make the right choice for a given instrument configuration we have created the PAL Configurator Software. It is a new tool which enables the user to graphically assemble a PAL system right on the PC screen. All the available GC and HPLC configurations are taken into account making the choice of the right instrument quick and easy. The selection can be saved as a pdf file for later reference or when ordering your system of choice.

MEPS online SPE for PAL Systems |
|
SGE Analytical Science (www.SGE.com) introduced the new MEPS option (Micro Extraction by Packed Sorbent) for the PAL Series of CTC Autosamplers. MEPS is the miniaturization of conventional SPE packed bed devices from milliliter bed volumes to microliter volumes. The MEPS approach to sample preparation is suitable for reversed phases, normal phases, mixed mode or ion exchange chemistries. MEPS is available in a variety of common SPE phases. The cartridge (Patent Pending) contains the stationary phase, and is built into the syringe needle. With a typical void volume of a few μL, the MEPS elution is compatible with GC and LC inlets making it ideal for automated on-line SPE on the CTC PAL platform. MEPS kits are exclusively available worldwide through authorised CTC distributors and SGE Analytical Science.
